ON-LINE DONATIONS TO SUNSET |

On April 21, 2010 the Board of Sunset United Church decided to establish a means to enable people to make on-line credit card contributions to Sunset United through CanadaHelps. CanadaHelps is an organization that assists charitable organizations in the administration of on-line donations.
The Board felt that it would be useful to facilitate donations from people who are not adherents or usual attendees of Sunset but who wish to support the mission and activities of the church or who wish to make a donation in appreciation for assistance or support they have received from Sunset (e.g. Web-casts, funerals, weddings, pastoral support). In many cases credit card donations would be a more convenient way for such individuals to make a donation and receive a receipt on-line.
We have establish a link to CanadaHelps on our Website (look up and to the left). If you wish to make an on-line donation, you can click on the CanadaHelps logo and you will be directed to the CanadaHelps donation site for Sunset United Church. CanadaHelps will then remit the amount of the donation to Sunset, less a 3% administration fee. For that reason, we encourage regular contributors to continue to use existing channels, such as PAR, envelopes, or cheques.
When you make a donation through CanadaHelps, they will send you a receipt directly - you will not receive a recipt from our Envelope Steward for this specific donation.
The Board hopes that the establishment of this mechanism for on-line contributions will make it easier for people who are not regular attendees to support the work of our church.
